To provide delegates with the knowledge and practical experience to enable them to climb railway signal structures using protected and unprotected access ways and to work safely in protected areas utilising available systems.
• Legislation for Working at Height.
• Risk Assessment Awareness
• PPE – pre use checks and fitting (Harness, helmet, fall arrest and positioning lanyards)
• Access ways – Protected and unprotected
• Climbing Techniques unsing harnesses, lanyards, and work positioning lanyards
• Safe use of portable ladders
• Safe Setup and use of retractable blocks
• Awareness of emergency procedure
• Theory and Practical assessments
The course will involve elements of classroom and practical tuition.
Personnel who are required to access railway signal structures utilising fixed and portable ladders. Personnel will either work from the ladder or transfer into a protected platform.
