Further Information:We have a team of over 20 Fit2Fit accredited face fit testers. The Fit2Fit accreditation scheme is a BSIF initiative supported by the HSE which ensures fit testers have shown the level of competence required in the HSE guidance INDG 479. Each Respiratory Technician is trained in the use of the latest TSI PortaCount Equipment. Quantitative testing is a method used for all tight-fitting respirators, including disposable, half and full-face masks.
Each test takes approximately 20 minutes and you will be given a 1 hour slot to allow for any retests . During the test the wearer carries out a series of exercises designed to simulate movement expected in the workplace. The machine detects particles leaking into the mask and at the end of the test indicates whether the test is a pass or fail.
• All individuals must be clean shaven at the time of testing, around the facial area and within the seal of the face mask.
• Individuals must refrain from smoking for 1 hour prior to testing.
• Half and Full face masks must be tested with a P3 filter, or combination filter which includes a P3.
• Confirmation of make and model of mask required to be testing at the time of booking
• If testing on disposable masks, your site would need to provide one mask per person.
• Please also provide a backup mask in the event of any failures.
• If you normally wear protective goggles or hard hat when you wear your facepiece, you will be asked to wear these also during the fit test.
You will be able to select an AM or PM slot at time of booking. Once we receive your booking, you will receive a specific 1hour time slot by one of our Customer Service Advisors.
