Monopole Access & Rescue

Course Aim

To provide delegates with the knowledge and practical experience to enable them to safely access and rescue a fellow worker from a monopole structure with access system. Casualty would be typically suspended by the fall arrest system while climbing Latchways MonoStep system (or equivalent). Rescues are carried out using casualty lifting and lowering techniques.

• PPE – pre use checks and fitting (WAH PPE and sealed rescue kit)
• Setting up of Latchways MonoStep system
• Work positioning
• Rescue kit content awareness
• Anchor point selection
• Casualty lifting using rescue kit
• Casualty lowering
• Casualty care
• Suspension Syncope theory
• Theory and Practical assessments

Aimed At

Experienced telecoms climbers familiar with fall arrest techniques. Examples include: telecoms tower workers, engineers, site rescue personnel.

Pre-requisite

Delegates must hold an in date working at height certificate including practical training, typically MATS Climbing and Rescue course.
This course can be refreshed within a MATS Refresher course.  Full course must be completed first.
