Course Aim

To provide delegates with the knowledge and practical experience to enable them to form a judgement on the state/condition of basic working at height PPE. This includes the following 4 items: harness, fall arrest lanyard, helmet, work positioning lanyard.

Course Content

• Responsibilities of the Duty Holder
• PPE Inspection legislation (Work at Height regulations, PUWER, LOLER, PPE at work Regulations, etc)
• Marking of equipment
• Record production
• Inspection procedures
• Fault diagnosis
• Controlled disposal procedures
• Theory and Practical assessments

This course is entirely classroom based with hands-on practical exercises on inspection of equipment only

Aimed At

Personnel responsible for the statutory formal inspection of harnesses, helmets, fall arrest lanyards and work positioning lanyards.
If the delegates are required to inspect more than the stated four items, it is suggested that the 3-Day IoSH Fall Protection Equipment Inspector course be considered instead.
