The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) is more than just a piece of legislation. It relies on management intervention and colleague training to ensure that your business and its workforce are protected.
This primarily applies to the control of substances that can cause fires and explosions in the workplace (SI 2002 No. 2776). These risks must be eliminated or reduced as much as is reasonably practical, to protect employees, site visitors and members of the public.
The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002(DSEAR) the EU directive ATEX137 require all employers to protect their workers from explosive environments in their workplace.
DSEAR assessment requires, not only time and effort, but very importantly specialist knowledge and expertise, which may not be available within your own organization.
If you don’t have the have the experience and expertise to conduct comprehensive DSEAR assessments, then we can help. Services include the identification, elimination or reduction of risks, and the Classification of Hazardous Areas (Hazardous Area Classification- HAC).
We can carefully review the compliance of your equipment in relation to ATEX certification.
We aim to identify non-compliance where it occurs, and to recommend appropriate solutions that will help you achieve and maintain compliance.
As an employer, it’s your duty to protect your workforce from dangerous substances. This involves assessing risks, mitigation, preparing emergency pans, and improving employee training.
But what if you worked with a safety partner that could support you through all of this and help create an improved safety culture that is effective and compliant?
Arco Professional Safety Services can work with you to understand the risks present within your workplace. We can create compliant diagrams and signage to ensure you meet zonal classification and prevent potential explosive risks.
We can also work with you to create bespoke reports on areas for improvement, with corresponding action plans and timescales.
Our services also include helping you to create risk assessments for any process or storage arrangement that may have a risk of explosion. By decanting, refuelling, defueling or paint spraying as necessary, we can assist you in reducing risks.
